Seconds ticked by slowly. Time seemed at a stand still. Emily's eyes were on the clock, never moving from the minute hand that was so close. It was so close to saying her class was done and then it would be time for lunch. "Emily, what year did America end up in World War II?"
[/b][/i] the teacher asked as he stood at the front. He looked directly at Emily, waiting for her reply but none came. She hadn't even heard the question. "Ms. Johnson?" he asked sweetly. The teachers were never touch on the new students. Had she been there for her whole life, she would have been tougher. Before Emily could even open her mouth, the bell rang loud and clear. All the students began packing their stuff, hurrying to their favorite period, lunch. Emily packed slower then the rest. She had no need to hurry. She smiled meekly at the teacher before exiting the door, the last to leave. Killing time, Emily made her way to the cafeteria slowly. She didn't care about the drizzle and mist coming from sky. She was actually quite the fan of rain, so Forks never really bothered her. Entering the cafeteria, she was met with the buzz of students all chattering away happily. They were doing so until Emily got into the salad line. Everyone paused to look at her before building the buzz up one by one. She just sighed. It was like this town wasn't used to new people moving in. They probably weren't. A simple salad would do for Emily today. Her stomach was feeling wishy-washy anyways. She didn't want to push it. When she finally done paying, she turned to try to find a spot to pick. She couldn't help but notice some glares that said don't you dare sit with me. She glared back before heading to an empty table. She pulled out her cell phone to check her messages and it was from her brother. Hey sis! Hope everything's good in Forks. Hope to see you soon. Emily replied back with fake enthusiasm saying everything was great. So long as neither her brother or mother thought something was wrong, she wouldn't have to go back to North Dakota. I'm in the business of misery, lets take it from the top. She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock. It's a matter of time before we all run out. when i thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth. School. it was the very first day of school today and it was raining like usual in the town of Forks. the constant drizzle disrupted the excited atmosphere that floated around the school. Sophia could care less, she really could. Thank god this was her senior year then she could get out of this school and be free. Well of course she is going to collage, She had her future planned out and it didn't involve modeling like her mom had planned out. She hated modeling and really wanted to do something that had to do with animals, she wanted to be a wildlife photographer. It had to do with both animals and photography and that's what Sophie loved most. She sat there waiting for the lunch bell to ring so they can be dismissed. She was in art 3 right now and she had finished her work at the beginning of class and was bored out of her skull. She sighed as she rolled her head around and then caught the eye of a fellow classmate, he was seeming to be checking her out. She could already tell he was not her type by the way he looked, of course he had blond hair, buff, which most likely meant he played on the football team and was a jock. She gave him a sweet smile and then noticed he was looking at her face. this aggravated her tremendously and she sighed angrily and got up from her spot. She adjusted her skirt and started to stroll over to his seat.
On her way she grabbed a cup of yellow paint that was sitting on the counter and gave a flirtatious smile as she hid it behind her and walked closer to him, He gave her a satisfying grin and was about to open his mouth until she 'accidentally' split the paint all over his new shirt. She grinned wildly and chuckled a bit, she had caught the attention of the students around her and they were laughing hysterically. She bent down and whispered in his ear, If you dare tell the teacher on me, then I'll make sure to make your life hell this whole year, got that? she threatened, look at my body again and your toast. she smiled and walked back to her seat, as she grabbed her things the bell rung and the class was dismissed. she smiled and knew she was gonna have a great day.
She walked out into the hallway and her searched the new faces, which weren't many, as they neared the cafeteria. She gave a low sigh and as she made her way through the double glass doors, talk about how to make an entrance, everyone quickly turned their head and glared at her. what? so, she had a few enemies, big deal it was only most of the school. She ignored their glare and smiled. walking towards the salad line she took her being a vegetarian serious, she wouldn't dare eat an animal. She grabbed her plate full of salad and looked around for her usual spot. Curiosity played at her as she found another girl sitting at her table to. She snorted and made her way over to that table and sat down. Hey, you new here? she said and took a mouthful of celery. ( word count: ?? Emily was just fine sitting at a table by herself. It didn't phase her at the slightest. She was able to have time to think. Even though it seemed like she always had too much time to think. She was going to end up having her brain explode if she didn't slow down and just relax. It was hard to relax though. She felt like she was constantly watching her back and always rushing home before dark. That was especially hard since working at Newton's she would sometimes have to stay late while campers discussed pros and cons of each item they passed.
She was busy munching away. Not even noticing that half, or maybe more, of the lunch room got quiet before returning to the normal volume. She did realize it a minute to late when she realized the girl who quieted the room came closer to herself. Emily watched the girl, her eyebrow raised as the girl just sat in front of her. Emily pursed her lips, planning on ignoring the girl unless she talked. Emily's luck failed though when she heard the girl begin talking.
Hey, you new here?
Emily looked at the girl like she was stupid. Honestly, that was pretty obvious. The school had the smallest population ever. The girl in front of her would have definitely seen her before in this small ass school. "Oh no, you see I basically live in the library and have no friends. I decided to come out of hiding today though," she responded back, laying the sarcasm on thick. "Is your hair naturally black?" Emily started, still spitting sarcasm, "Or did you start out blond, because it seems like it." Emily smirked at the girl before getting a forkful of salad and placing it in her mouth.

I'm in the business of misery, lets take it from the top. She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock. It's a matter of time before we all run out. when i thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth. Sophie couldn't help but notice the glare and the vibe she was getting from this girl, Sophie continued to smile as the girl tried to insult her. "Oh no, you see I basically live in the library and have no friends. I decided to come out of hiding today though," The girl was obviously being saracastic and Sophia would love to play this game. Sounds awesome, i hear the library is a great place to stay at. she smiled innocently, Of course then you would have all the little geeks come in and out and disturb your peace, i hear the Band room is way better. she chuckled and continued to munch on her celery, Sophie really didn't mind playing games like this with anyone, usually no one approached her enough to even start up a conversation, because they knew how much of a bitch and bad-ass she was.
"Or did you start out blond, because it seems like it."Sophie just fiddled with her celery stick and whistled softly as this girl continued to insult her in some way or form. She placed it back down on the try and looked at her, I wouldn't be caught dead with blond hair. she simply said, keeping a straight face, Listen, the only reason i sat here was because this is my table, this is the table everyone tries to avoid becuase i tend to make peoples lives hell, she said smoothly. And that is my job here, to make others fear me, and to make them see that i am no push over. You'll soon learn why though. she smirked.
She watched the football player who she had dumped paint on earlier making his way to the jock table in the process glaring at Sophie, did she care? No. She smiled sweetly back, but you could tell the threat her eyes gave off. he quickly turned away and she gestured over to him. The reason he is acting so scared of me is because i dumped paint on him in art class, and threatened him. she chuckled, its a thrill to watch them get all embarassed and the whole class laughs. i never get tired of it. she said biting in her veggie burger. The girl should take this as a warning, but Sophia knew darn well that she wouldn't, she would try and make things worse. Of course then you would have all the little geeks come in and out and disturb your peace, i hear the Band room is way better.
Emily made a smug laugh. What kind of comeback was that? She smirked at the girl in front of her. Obviously she thought she was something else. Even Emily could tell she wasn't though. "Oh, I bet. That's where you get laid by band geeks on a daily basis, right?" she responded to the girl's 'comeback'. This girl had obviously never met someone like Emily. Someone who wouldn't back down from anything. Someone who didn't cower in fear from one harmless jab. The girl may think she's bad ass but she ain't got nothing on Emily, that's for sure.
Listen, the only reason i sat here was because this is my table, this is the table everyone tries to avoid becuase i tend to make peoples lives hell,
How could you not laugh at the pathetic attempts at comebacks? Emily would've had a hysteria fit if it weren't for her fighting back with the girl. Little by little, it seemed as if heads were turning in their direction. "You make people's lives hell, huh? What, does your face do all the work?" Emily commented, a smirk was firmly placed on her face.
And that is my job here, to make others fear me, and to make them see that i am no push over. You'll soon learn why though
Emily looked at the girl like she was out of her mind. "The only thing I am learning," Emily started, standing up slowly to be face to face with the girl, "Is that you have never met someone like me, oh, and that you are in serious need of a new comeback book." Emily glared at the girl, daring her to say something. Emily would be happy to respond.
The reason he is acting so scared of me is because i dumped paint on him in art class, and threatened him.
She was seriously getting convinced that this girl was out of her mind. "Paint?" she laughed, trying not to break out in unstoppable laughter, "Paint? You're kidding me, right?" Em laughed again, finding this reply seriously funny. "I'm sorry I didn't realize we were still in Kindergarten."
its a thrill to watch them get all embarassed and the whole class laughs. i never get tired of it.
An eyebrow raised at the girl's attempt to scare her. "Really? Have you ever been on the other side of it?" Em asked, pausing to wait for an answer. "I think the whole cafeteria is about to laugh and you're going to be embarrassed unless you back the hell off of me," she threatened, you could tell in her voice that she was telling the truth too. More then half of the cafeteria had gone quiet now. They had been speaking pretty loud.

I'm in the business of misery, lets take it from the top. She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock. It's a matter of time before we all run out. when i thought he was mine, she caught him by the mouth. Some people just didn't know when to give up, there were two people in the school that was like that, Sophia and this girl, fresh meat that has entered her territory, Something that could be disposed of if Sophie tried hard enough. "Oh, I bet. That's where you get laid by band geeks on a daily basis, right?" Sophie couldn't help but chuckle and she placed her celery back down on the tray and looked at the girl, At least i do get laid. she smirked and leaned back in her chair, making it rock back and forth. No way was this girl gonna scare her off, if she wanted to fight fire with fire, then so be it. Sophia may be getting thrashed around by her, but she wasn't going down without a fight, she didn't care if it embarrassed her for life, this was her senior year, and anyone can spoil it as much as they want, even this bitch. But she would not back down, she had a year in this hell hole and she was staying.
You make people's lives hell, huh? What, does your face do all the work?" Sophie chuckled with the girl at that one and sighed, I didn't know 'your face' jokes were back in, last time i heard that was back in Junior high. she said coolly and yawned making it seem like this talk was as boring as the rest of the conversations in this school, but this one actually caught her attention, which enticed her to continue 'chatting'. The only thing I am learning," Emily started, standing up slowly to be face to face with the girl, "Is that you have never met someone like me, oh, and that you are in serious need of a new comeback book." Sophie raised her eyebrows and gave a half smile, Wow, that is very threatening, maybe i should go under a table and start slicing my wrist open. she chuckled, she knew she had bad comebacks, she always had, but at least she gets her point across.
"Paint? You're kidding me, right?" Em laughed again, finding this reply seriously funny. "I'm sorry I didn't realize we were still in Kindergarten." Sophie started laugh hysterically and finally stopped and pretended to wipe a tear away from her eyes, Oh stop it, you making blush. she finished her fake laughing. Can't say i take all the credit. she said and gestured over the jock who seemed to be gawking at them. "Really? Have you ever been on the other side of it?" Em asked, pausing to wait for an answer. "I think the whole cafeteria is about to laugh and you're going to be embarrassed unless you back the hell off of me," the girl was very threatening and if Sophie hadn't heard this before, she wouldn't be able to speak. the other side. how could she forget that year? when she was a model and everyone envied her and cut her down, what do you think it was that built her up so much? what made her hate the world and everyone around her? When was i getting into your business? eh? i just sat down because this is my table. she put her hands behind her head and relaxed, the threat barely hung over her mind. Whatever floats you boat and gets you out of view is fine with me. she cooed. At least i do get laid.
Emily smirked. Was that the best she had? "So, let me get this straight. You're desperate enough to stalk little band geeks and beg them to lay you?" she laughed and continued, "Well, all I can say then is at least I'm not a whore." She put emphasize on the word whore, showing this girl that it was always good to get continually laid.
I didn't know 'your face' jokes were back in, last time i heard that was back in Junior high.
She had to raise an eyebrow, she couldn't help it. What kind of comeback was that? This was getting very boring to Emily. "No, I believe you're confusing it with 'Your mama' jokes, but I'm pretty sure you still use those, right?" she spat back at the girl. Emily crossed her arms over her chest, feeling very superior. That much you could tell on her face.
Wow, that is very threatening, maybe i should go under a table and start slicing my wrist open.
Emily had to admit, this was funny. Most of the cafeteria was finding it funny as well. "Sure, would you like me to break out the emo puns as well?" she asked sarcastically, eying the girl. Where was the challenge? The threat? She couldn't believe these kids were scared of this girl. Guess that's what happens in small towns. They don't mean obviously.
When was i getting into your business? eh? i just sat down because this is my table.
Emily was sick of the 'my table' excuse. "I don't care who's fucking table this is!" she started yelling, "I don't care if the damn president owns this table, I'm going to sit here and you're not going to make me move." All the cards were out now. Emily was giving off death glares that she had never done before. This girl was asking for it and she was getting it.
Whatever floats you boat and gets you out of view is fine with me.
"Fine!" she huffed, looking at the girl dead in the eye. "Just remember, you asked for it." Emily put the emphasize on you because she did ask for it, she had a good amount of witnesses too. The cafeteria was looking at them with wide eyes. Emily quickly picked up her salad, drenched in ranch dressing, and her water bottle, already opened and leaned over and dumped the contents on the girl's head. Emily smiled happily, and victoriously. The whole cafeteria was cheering. Luckily, there was no teachers in site. None of them ever sat in there, it seemed. Happily, Emily smirked at the girl before walking out of the cafeteria and into the bathroom. She asked for it, no denying that.
