Heidi walked out to the garage, with a half smile planted on her face. She was going to work on her car today. Nearly a month ago, Heidi and her father Jacob went out and found a true junker of a car. They were going to rebuild it together. A little father- daughter bonding time. Most teenagers would find this stupid, and dread it, but not Heidi. She wanted to enjoy every minute with her family, because who knew what could happen to her? Being the strange creature she was, her werewolf side could kill the vampire in her at any time. She might have years to live, or maybe only seconds.
When she finally stepped into the garage, her little half smile pulled up into a full grin. Though they had gotten the car a while ago, they had yet to even start working on it. Heidi had school and friends and boys to worry about, and Jacob was always working or running with the pack, they barely ever had any time to do anything. But they had both agreed that today was ‘their’ day.
She skipped carefully over to her rust red car. Heidi wasn’t the most graceful person, and it was a miracle she made it there without falling. She looked around, wanting to get start so her father would be impressed when he finally came, but realized she knew nothing about cars. Honestly, Heidi didn’t even really like cars all that much, she would rather be shopping. But cars was Jacob’s thing, and she wanted to be a part of that. He had built a car all by himself when he was her age, she could surely do it with his help.
Sighing, she leaned against the side of the car and waited patiently. But she got bored easily and soon was wandering over by the tools. There was a lot of shiny metal objects used to fix cars, but not a single one looked familiar to Hiedi. She was starting to get worried…

Jacob was excited for today he kind of had been looking forward to it really. Jacob could always be childish but he was actually doing something he enjoyed with Heidi he was going to teach her to fix up a car with him. something he was good at and he hoped she would if not hey Jacob could make it fun no sweat. It was what he was good at after all. Jacob walked out of the woods he had spent the afternnon working with the pack leah had annoyed him a little but nothing could ruin the mood he was in today that was for sure.
Jacob walked inot the house in his usual ripped up jeans and shirtless but he pulled on a dark shirt before heading to the garage his did not need to get more dirty then he was he would take a nice hot shower later. Jacob waled inot the garage running a hand through his hair. A bright smile lite up his face as his dark eyes landed on his daughter. "Hey Heidi" he said walking over ans sweeping her up into a large bear hug he was known for them. He set her down glancing at the old car it would be a fun project that would take time but it would fun.
"You ready to get started little Missy" he asked clapping his hand togther trying to decide where to begin his eyes on the hood he knew reworkign the engine would take some time so might as well get started on it. He lifted the hood it creaked at him as if upset he would even touch it but that was nothing some 409 would fix up. "Hope you not afraid of a little dirt." he said teasinly smiling at her.

Just as Heidi was starting to have second thoughts, her father walked in. She could almost touch his air of confidence, and she felt a lot better. If he knew what he was doing, everything would be just fine. "Hey Heidi" Jacob greeted in an excited, husky voice. As he pulled her in for a big, hot bear hug, Heidi smiled and remembered that this was going to be fun, nothing to worry about.
“Hey dad.” Heidi said as she wiggled her way out of his grasp. She smiled that she could say that. She usually had to call him Jacob, if anyone else was around. They looked to close in age. He could no longer pull off looking like her father. Everyone else knew them as siblings. That used to bother Heidi, but it didn’t anymore. She couldn’t help it that she was getting older, and he couldn’t help it that he wasn’t. Soon… much to soon she would have to say that SHE was HIS mother. That would just be weird.
"You ready to get started little Missy?" Jacob said, with a clap of his huge hands. She watched him as he eyed the hood of the car.
“Uhhh.. sure?” Heidi said, in a very unsure voice. She watched carefully as Jacob walked over to her horrible car and pulled up the hood with a sure hand. She cringed at the sound of the horrible creaking hinges. Slowly she made her way over to where he stood, stooped over to look into the engine. “Hope you not afraid of a little dirt." He said, giving her a teasing smile.
Heidi laughed, “I know I can be a bit of a girly girl, but I’m not THAT bad.” Then she muttered, mostly to herself, “that’s the least of my worries.” Sure it was just her dad, and he would never get mad if she messed up, but still, she didn’t want to.

Jacob looked at the engine trying to pick out somewhere easy to begin. He did not need to do anything to complicated at first. For one thing he knew Heidi had never worked with cars before so it this would be a slow expeience teaching her but he did not mind really. He liked to teach her something he felt like a true father in a way. Like he was passing on knowledge to his daughter he could not wait to teach her some werewolf things. But then again he was not sure how that would work out even with her being part werewolf and part vampire. It was all to comlicated he would just have to wait to see how it all turned out and pray for the best results.
Jacob laughed at her uneasiness. "Don't worry we wont be doing anything to huge today...I'll explain everything if you need help." he said reassuringly giving her a pat on her back. Hopeing she would relax a little he was going to go easy on her for now at least. He dug his hand in unplugging a few things until he removed the battery he set it aside from the car on a table he grabbed a bottle and a rag. "This is the car battery it;s whta makes the engine go vroooooom." he said jokingly smiling holding out the rag and bottle to her.
"Your first ob is to clean it of with this special cleaner. Once it's clean we have to see if it still works." he said simply smiling. "Easy enough right?" he said grabing a nother rag and shoving it in his back pocket he plan to go through and deduce the shap od the engine and other parts to see if they would need to replace anything.

"Don't worry we wont be doing anything to huge today...I'll explain everything if you need help." Jacob told an uneasy Heidi. She still was a little worried, but she let him talk her out of it. Her father would take it easy on her. She knew it was silly to worry with him, but she didn’t want to mess this up. She wanted to be the best daughter she could be. For him.
"This is the car battery it’s what makes the engine go vroooooom." Jacob told her after he dislodged a rather greasy, odd shaped thing from under the hood.
“Oh haha.” Heidi said in a sarcastic voice, finally loosening up, “I’m not that dumb.” Well, actually she probably was, at least with cars that is. She followed him over to the table where he plopped it down, leaving a black residue on the already filthy tabletop. But hey, that was part of the mechanical job. You had to get a little dirty.
Jacob pulled out a cleaner and a rag and handed it to Heidi. She took it a little awkwardly as he explained, "Your first job is to clean it of with this special cleaner. Once it's clean we have to see if it still works." He said with a small grin. Heidi could pretty much guess what he had to be thinking, because it was what she was thinking too. She was going to have to get dirty, not a common thing for the girly hybrid. "Easy enough right?" Jacob said. He grabbed another rag and headed back to the car, probably to do something a little more challenging.
“Yeah, easy.” Heidi said, as she gingerly unscrewed the cap of the ‘special cleaner’. The moment it was open she coughed a little. It had a strong scent. With her increased sense of smell it made her a little light headed. But she got over it quickly and pored some on her rag. One swipe on the battery and it seemed to wipe right off. “Wow. It IS special.” She laughed. She continued to rub the grease off with ease.
“So what are you doing?” She asked, determined to learn as much as she could. Well, or at least seem interested. She thought her dad would like that.
