It was hard to believe that to Emily that she was finally out of North Dakota. It felt like a dream to her. Don't get her wrong though, North Dakota wasn't too bad but still, she hated it. The minute that Emily got news that her father was moving to Forks, Washington, which wasn't too far from North Dakota, she begged her mom to let her go. Her dad was happy to have Emily, or so it seemed. He seemed a lot different to her then he did a few years ago. He clearly had taken the divorce hard. She had known that for a while. Her mom was over it, her dad never really did. She couldn't help but notice that the fridge was stocked with beer when she had first arrived.
Forks did grow on Emily though. She was pleased with that. It wasn't because of having tons of friends, she was never the one to have a lot of friends but just because it was a change of scenery. Not to mention boys, but that guy wasn't important to Emily anymore. He would never matter anymore because she didn't give him the time of day and didn't plan on doing so for the rest of her life.
After about a week of living with her dad, she was finally done unpacking. Her room would need some redoing but she was too lazy at the moment to get started. Not to mention, school had started a few days ago. Not like she ever did her homework but the whole school reason did come in handy for when she was too lazy to do anything else.
Looking around the room that no longer held any brown boxes, she was satisfied but now had nothing to preoccupy her. She knew one thing that would so she got up off her bed and grabbed her cigarettes pack and lighter before walking downstairs, hiding those things in her pocket. "Hi dad," she smiled weakly, barely able to face him after last night. "Oh, hey honey," he had replied back to her. He didn't even remember last night. She knew he was trashed but she couldn't believe it was that bad. "Where'd you get that bruise?" he asked, looking at the bruise on her cheek. "Oh... nowhere. I'm going to go for a walk. Be back soon," she responded as her hand flew up to the bruise. She walked quickly to the front door, without making her father worried, before heading straight to the forest on the side of their house.
You wouldn't believe how quickly Emily had found a good place to smoke. A few days, maybe a week, and she already knew exactly where to go. All she had to do was go a few feet into the forest and there was a little stump, perfect for sitting on and covered enough in the bushes and trees that her father would never find her. She quickly found the stump and sat on it before lighting up. Her muscles relaxing finally from her previous conversation.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows He gave her a teasing bite- i know what your thinking. A bite? She is going to change! Thats the point really. Landon bites them in certain places and lets the burning sensation currupt them. When really it's much more. She was feeling the heat, moaning for more- girls always replace the feeling of burning to the heat of sex- but then it really started to take effect. She started to scream, yelling 'it hurts. it hurts!" Landon chuckled and licked her neck line, feeling the blood tickle his lips. She began to push Landon away, which only excited him more. He crawled off her pained body and grabbed his cramera. He's addicted to taking pictures of his victims when their in this state. Sick? Maybe, but Landon hopes so. He likes to be- sick. Landon would do anything to forget her. Anything. In that moment his prey's face reminded him of hers. Of his once upon a time lover- Amy Bradley. Landon snapped his teeth, Damn. He reached and grabbed the girls head, twisting it until the neck broke. Then he took his sweet time sucking her dry.
Even though he's done all these killings- he still can't shake Amy off his mind. Like somewhere she was still alive. Landon cursed under his breath,"She's dead. Forget her." Landon had to kill someone- anyone! It was a temperary cure to shake the thought of her off. He stalked the drak streets of Forks, feeling the need- beginning to shake. Then a striking sweet and delight scent relaxed his body. He smirked and moaned an approval that whoever the scent belonged to spelled delicious and was other known as prey. Silently, which took no effert, Landon followed the scent into the woods. Feeling the sweet smell control the animal inside him. He edged closer to the spot and to his delight it was a girl. Landon approched her quietly and noticed her smoking. For an attractive young women, smoking was un-attractive in her case right now. Leaning cooly into a tree he muttered to her," that can kill you- you know." It's not the only thing, he thought.
The moment their eyes met, Landon had a vision of tomorrow. His future of tomorrow. It's pouring rain outside and Landon's walking though the strees, his hairs soaked, his cloths just the same- wet. This vision made no sense. Why was Landon stalking the streets- he would usually be at a club with the rest of the teenboppers, trying to caught a snack. A small house came in veiw, and Landon was staring at something. The window? What's in the window? In that moment the girl, which Landon's talking to now, came into view. She only wore a bra and underwear. The vision showed Landon wanting her, but not in the usual feeding way. Sexually.
Landon shook the vision off. He hated seeing tomorrow, even though this one was interesting he knew he would purposly change it. He stared at the girl that crossed his vision- was he planning on killing her tomorrow? Landon forgot all about her. His interest was in this young lady in front of him. "Name's Landon," he made his way in front of her and snatched the cigarette away. He took the bud and broke it in half, " and I wasn't joking."

It was nice to be sitting in the forest, without a care in the world. She could just enjoy the time that passed and not regret it in the end. The only time she ever regretted was being home... and awake, when her dad was drunk. She never got in trouble when she was asleep. Then again, he probably only yelled, and cursed, and hurt her was because she was the spitting image of her mom. Or close enough. Either way, he never got over her. Emily was too lost in thought to even notice the now quiet forest. No animals were making sounds and it was as if the trees stood still. She didn't notice the quietness until someone's soft, musical voice broke it.
" that can kill you- you know."
She was sure she was about to jump off of the stump. The voice had shocked her since she never expected one to appear. If anything, she would've heard the footsteps stepping on twigs and leaves as they neared her. She didn't even have any warning of the person that was now behind her. She whipped her head around and spoke. "Why don't you mind your own," she paused, noticing how amazingly beautiful the guy was, resisting the urge to allow her jaw to drop, she finished her sentence, "business." It didn't come out with as much venom as before, or how much she wanted.
She kept her eyes on the boy, wondering what he was doing in the forest. Her reason was easily found, and not really needed to be explained. Emily noticed the guy seemed disconnected from the world for, what, a second? Maybe two. Then he was back, making his way in front of her and she watched his every single move.
Name's Landon,"
At that moment, Emily had the cigarette between her two fingers. That is, until she felt it snatched from her fingers. She saw Landon break it in two. Emily glared at him as he added something about he wasn't joking. "Well, I would say nice to meet you but you just broke my cigarette," Emily said calmly to the guy, looking up at him. She wasn't short but she was still sitting on the stump of the cut down tree. "I'm Emily," she finally stated, knowing she would've been asked what her name was anyways.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows A chuckle escaped from Landon's lips. He was sure to keep a friendly distance- not wanted to touch her. The reason being once he did he would be forced to watch her tomorrow. Even though her future interested him, he didn't bother wanting to discover just what tomorrow brought to this attractive human. Landon can't lie to himself and say some human girls aren't attractive. Because they obviously are- like Emily. It was nice to Finlay hear her name. Landon felt it was so common and original, and he hated it. "Thats a common name," he told her in a quiet voice. He took his place against a tree across from her place so he could study her more in depth. At first glance Landon figured she was a cigarette addict who doesn't enjoy her family since she's out this late at night. Emily sounds very stuck up and not too friendly when it comes to strangers. Perhaps she likes to appear tough on the outside and is actually a softly inside. Or Landon could be completely wrong. He's not a mind reader, unlike Edward.
Landon couldn't shake the vision of tomorrow out of his mind. He already witnessed Emily piratically naked and they only just met. Landon had to approach the girl in a way she instantly bonded with him. Which would lead to the killing. But what route should he take: the nice guy, the rebel, the obvious guy- there is so many to choose from. Be yourself. Though the thought was crazy he pursued it. Landon sighed," why are you out here by yourself? You do know there are monsters that go bump in the night." Even though he was referring to himself, she would never catch on to the true meaning. Yes he was a stranger, but he was an even worst threat. He was a blood thirsty vampire. Emily better be happy he already fed.

"Thats a common name,"
Her eyes burrowed in frustration. That wasn't her fault. She had heard the story behind her name a thousand times plus one. Her mom was so obsessed with being in America, saying it was a beautiful country. She wanted her first daughter to have an American and French name. What do you know, she picks Emily Anne. The Johnson wasn't her fault, her father's last name just took the cake. Emily probably had the most common full name in the world. "I'm... sorry?" she spoke, it came out sounding more like a question though.
Her eyebrows still burrowed, she looked up to the Landon guy, trying to relax her face. "Landon's a pretty common name to, ya know?" she spoke, pointing out that he wasn't so different himself. Well, maybe except in looks.
"why are you out here by yourself? You do know there are monsters that go bump in the night."
She wasn't sure what emotion was played on her face now. Maybe disbelief but she honestly wasn't sure. What was with all the privacy invading questions. Well, this was only one, still. "Honestly, I think you should have a pretty good guess as why I'm out here," she finally spoke, looking at Landon still. Her eyes wouldn't come off of him. She laughed at the monster thing though. "What monsters? You?" she joked, still laughing. There was no danger in Forks. It was the smallest town she had ever lived in. Even North Dakota was more frightening then Forks, and that was saying something.

I LOOK ALIVE I'M DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows Her eyes burrowed in frustration and Landon knew he hit a nerve. Though he didn't care he still felt a little unsteady. This girl wasn't one to just sit around and let stuff happen. She appeared to be biting back. Landon laughed on the inside. Emily made sure to state that 'Landon' was a pretty common name as well. Yes, it was and the reason Landon chose that name to replace the once human who dies thirty years ago. Landon was taking aback at the thought of how long it's been since ---- ---- Blackwood changed him. Yet that day feels like yesterday. The image of Amy broke through and Landon was suddenly furious, clenching his jaw. He noticed Emily still watching him so he relaxed his face.
"Hm. Suppose i could take a wild- yet predictable- guess on why your out hear. But I like to hear you talk," he smiled and adjusted against the tree. He didn't feel like staring at her anymore, so he replaced his glare at the forest. Opening his ears and nostrils to tell if any werewolves or vampire were in the area. The tree's were still, the animals, even the wind. Weird.Like time just stopped. Landon thought to himself. "what monsters? you?" She joked, feeling the silence with laughter. Landon joined the humor in this sudden conversation. "Yes, I would say I'm someone to look out for," he told her- avoiding eye contact.
Landon couldn't possible forget the girl's delicious oder. The reason Landon located her in the first place. It's so Strong and vivid that it's hard to believe no other vampire has come to clam this prey. But he could forget that most vampires around here are damn veggies. Feeding on easy animal prey. Weak. All of them are weak and missing out on the thrill.

Emily was watching him closely. It wasn't like she had anything else to look at. Still, she couldn't help but noticed his clenched jaw. It was there for maybe a millisecond but she did notice it. She couldn't help but wonder what was going through his head.
"Hm. Suppose i could take a wild- yet predictable- guess on why your out hear. But I like to hear you talk,"
"Well aren't you sweet?" she replied back, sarcasm lightly tinting the edges of her voice. Something was wrong though because it wasn't coming out as strong as it was in her head. "Since my reason is so predictable," Emily started, "What are you doing out here?"
"Yes, I would say I'm someone to look out for,"
She raised an eyebrow, looking at the boy. That wasn't the reply she would've expected. Or rather, not in the joking way. It sounded almost serious. She noticed the avoidance of eye contact too. Again, she was curious. Wondering what was going through his head. She just didn't ask... again. Instead she sat there in thought, trying to figure out the wonderful, mysterious boy that stood before her.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows "What are you doing out here?"
[/s] She curved the question back to Landon who gladly accepted the challenge. "Well. Truth is I just got done," he paused to find his choice of words,"eating and decided to take a quick detour through the woods where i found you. Alone and maybe you wanted to keep it that way- but I decided to crash your smoking moment to chat." He stole a quick glance in her direction to meet her eyes. He could tell her curiosity was getting the best of her- and Landon couldn't help but feel the same. But as the saying goes 'curiosity killed the cat.' Landon continued to study her, making sure he didn't cross her comfort zone as he changed places. He quietly plopped on the ground- feeling like this may take awhile. He prompted his knees up and placed his palms to the ground to keep himself steady. "If I'm getting to personally just tell me to back off. But why are you smoking? Aren't you a little young?" Conversation wasn't Landon's Strong point, as I'm sure you can tell. He usually just catches the girls interest with a kiss that leads to sex and their demise. But Emily has to be different. Landon wanted to actually get to know the girl- other than killing her on the spot. He even considered brushing against her to simply see her future of tomorrow. Anything to see how this girl lives. But she didn't appear to be the one to spill out her dreams, high hopes, worst times, and etc. at once. Her diary is more like a book chained to a star never discovered before, guarded by meat eating zombies or something. Who knows. Landon sighed, "you ever get tired of feeling like you want to die... for real. Or ever had a memory you can't forget about?" It took Landon a second to noticed that he rambled on. Feeling he could talk with his prey, Emily, before he killed her. Guess it wouldn't matter if she gives her opinion, she's dead anyway. Landon disconnected his eyes with hers, feeling the urge to look back at them again. But he fought it. [/blockquote]

"eating and decided to take a quick detour through the woods where i found you. Alone and maybe you wanted to keep it that way- but I decided to crash your smoking moment to chat."
Emily just nodded at his reason for being in the forest. That sounded perfectly reasonable to her. Zero weirdness in the reason. She did have to fight the urge to smile at his use of words for when she was smoking. A smoking moment? Sure, you could call it that. Still, it was a funny way of putting it to Emily.
"If I'm getting to personally just tell me to back off. But why are you smoking? Aren't you a little young?"
She nodded again at the first part. Unfortunately, even if she thought he was getting personal, she probably wouldn't be able to back off. She'd probably just return the same question in return. "I'm seventeen, eighteen in a month," she muttered defensively when he questioned if she was too young. He didn't seem much older. Her age was young if the person was like thirty or forty.
Then she had to think about what she did smoke. She had only tried it once or twice before. As soon as she got to Forks though, it got worse. "It relieves stress," Emily finally spoke, looking at her hands. She was so tense after the conversation with her father, the cigarette just helped her feel better.
"you ever get tired of feeling like you want to die...for real. Or ever had a memory you can't forget about?"
"I never said I wanted to die," Emily replied. That was true. She never said it. Occasionally, she did feel like it though. Emily's eyes dropped when she asked her if she had a memory she couldn't forget about. Her arm involuntarily wrapped around her stomach, her hand holding onto her other arm. Whenever her dad was drunk was another memory she couldn't forget. Not to mention the boy. She felt claustrophobic at the thought of him. Her breath caught in her throat. She made herself take a deep breath. She couldn't even reply to Landon's question. Not to mention, she couldn't even look at him. She knew the look on her face and the look in her eyes.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows Stars popped onto the black blanket above their heads. The forest was already dark, but if it could get darker I'm sure it did. Her vision would soon adjust to the light. As she spoke Landon waited for the dark to get at the right moment. That moment being that she can hardly see him- and in the second Landon will decrease the distance between them. Greatly. "I'm seventeen, eighteen in a month." Landon couldn't help but laugh when she answered him defensively, "Yea, that's young." She seems the type to go against rules. I like that- a lot. Hm playing with her should be interesting. Landon displayed a smile for Emily. "It relieves stress." She tried to explain to Landon, but Landon didn't care really.
After rambling on he knew something would go wrong. When she answered, "I never said I wanted to die." Landon understood the question was out their and possibly confusing. He's surprised she wasn't tensed or backing away. Just then Emily's eyes dropped when Landon asked her if she had a memory she couldn't forget about. Her arm involuntarily wrapped around her stomach, her hand holding onto her other arm. Something was obviously wrong with Emily. "Woo, hey, you OK Emily?" He took the 'caring approach and took the opportunity to get closer to her. He paused in front of her and bent down in order to stay at eye level. He could tell something was up, her heart rate increased, she tensed up, even her breath caught in her throat.
Without a thought Landon place a hand softly on her cheek, "Emily?" Though your probably thinking Landon's becoming soft- i say not. He's only worried about losing his prey. If he doesn't at least make his mark, she could be someone else prey just as easily. Landon noticed the terror in her eyes. With his hand he forced Emily to look at him. "What are you thinking," he whispered silently. Mind reading is one ability Landon would like to have at this moment. What could be bothering her?

"Yea, that's young."
When Emily heard that, her head went back a little in disbelief. That's young when you're thirty, or forty. Landon couldn't be much older than herself. That was plain to see. "Okay... since you seem to think I'm a five year old, how old are you?" she finally asked, looking at Landon, her eyes almost demanding the answer. Though she'd never say she was out loud.
"Woo, hey, you OK Emily?"
She couldn't even answer if she wanted to. Yes, it was that bad. She felt like she couldn't breathe. She could feel the flood gates of tears trying to open. She bit her lip softly to hold it in. She had to make herself breathe. This is exactly why she never thought about the guy and her dad, at least around other people. At least she was able to do that at night when she was home alone.
"Emily?"
The touch of Landon's hand made almost like a shock feeling go through her. She felt like she could at least breathe now, though the pain stayed. She kept her head turned away from Landon. Why did he have to bring that up, Why? She felt terrible. She felt weak. Most of all, she felt her broken heart. Something she always, or tried anyways, to ignore.
"What are you thinking,"
Great, the one question she was hoping wouldn't come up. How could she explain everything? She would sound like such a lost cause. Maybe only because she was but that didn't mean she wanted everyone to know that information. All she could do was rack her brain for an easy way to explain all the crap running through her head.
She soon realized that she was now facing Landon's face. She didn't even realize that he had forced her to face him. Their faces were inches apart. Emily looked at his eyes. They were the most beautiful blue she had ever seen. Her breath caught again but then she reminded herself to breathe and her mouth opened to speak. "It's nothing," she blew it off, "I was hurt and it just still hurts." Emily dropped her eyes from Landon's. She knew they would probably say there was more but she couldn't say it all. It would hurt too much. Not to mention that she was still getting hurt but nobody really had to know this information. If they asked about the new bruise on her face later, she would simply say she got hit in the face... by a softball.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows Incredible. It took him awhile to even notice how nothing happened. As her pain sunk in and she struggled to say words- a flicker of hope flashed inside Landon. He wasn't seeming anything. No future vision thing was happened and ruining his day. But in the sight of hope, turned rage. How come he can't see her future of tomorrow. Was she like Bella? Immune to certain powers we vampire posses? Hahaha- interesting. Very interesting. Is this how Edward felt when he couldn't read Bella's mind? Relaxed and frustrated? Landon placed his hand back to his side, and stood. Liar. Landon wasn't an idiot when it came to abuse. He knew a view beatings of his own, heck he was in that situation once, but that's beside the point.
He took a few feet back and displayed a wicked, covering half his face with his left hand. shit. what if she's not the only one Immune to me? this isn't good. i have to try again. Without thinking it through he returned to Emily and grabbed her arm; lifted her off the tree stump. He cupped her faced into his hands and stared her down, trying to read her eyes. Them he slowly leaned in and placed a simple kiss upon her rosy lips.
nothing. damn! she's immune to me. Landon sighed, obviously not happy with this discovery. man, your really something. im very interested he smiled and released her face. i understand if you hate me for stealing a kiss, but i sure dont care. Landon noticed how pretty Emily was. Not the makeup, life-o, big boobs pretty, but a natural beauty.

Liar
Emily glared up at Landon. What was this? Some kind of therapy. Been there, done that, didn't work. "So?" she started, wondering why he even cared, "It's my own business so why don't you step the hell off." she yelled at the last part. It was hard not to though, she was thoroughly pissed because she didn't want anybody knowing that part of her life. Or the part that included her dad. Her life sucked overall, she could probably post daily on those FML sites on the web. She never dared though.
Landon had backed away but it seemed as quickly as he did, he was right back in front of her. All of a sudden she was pulled to her by her arm. "Ow," she said, sounding pissed. Her face was cupped by his hands and she just glared at him though she was registering the fact that her face was only inches from him. "What the f-," she started but was cut off. By Landon's lips no less. She was in utter shock though she knew she was alive. Her heart was pumping fast enough to register that fact. She didn't respond though and stood as still as a stone. She wasn't sure what to do actually. Some random guy was kissing her and as much as she wanted to respond, she didn't.
The kiss didn't last long. Emily couldn't figure out if she was happy with this or not. She continued to look at Landon, her face set in a glare. He was still cupping her face and she didn't plan on changing her facial expression anytime soon.
man, your really something. im very interested
She rolled her eyes as her face was finally released from his cold hands. She felt her face where his hands had just left. Almost like they got burned, but they weren't. Weird. "Yeah, not as common as you thought, eh?" she spat at him, still hurt, if that was even the word, by the previous comment about her name.
i understand if you hate me for stealing a kiss, but i sure dont care.
She continued to glare before looking around her. She made sure that she hadn't dropped anything into the soil below. The ground looked clear. "I would say hate is an understatement," she mumbled. She nodded at him once before starting to walk away, tons of things running through her head. She would need some drugs, as in Advil, whenever she reached the house.

I LOOK ALIVE IM DEAD INSIDE my heart has holes and black blood flows Landon would keep telling himself how Emily is immune. The more he tells it, the more he's attached to her. To be able to touch someone without seeing their future... it's relaxing at first. i would say hate is an understatement.Landon closed his eyes and let out an unnecessary huff. He stuffed his hands into his packets and shrugged, normal. True, it's absolutely normal for someone to hate Landon. It's easy actually.
Emily began to walk off and Landon stood his ground, fed up with the girl himself. lie. He want to pursue her, she stop her from walking away from him. Like a drug he can't leave alone. Landon groaned, she's right, why do i even care? she's nothing to me... Landon could feel his legs wanted to race after her, his arms wanted to grab her, his lips- alright we get the picture.
damn it! He muttered. In a split second he grabbed Emily's arm to stop her in her tracks- which wasn't hard to do. what's the hurry- A second vision came, it wasn't emily's it was Landon's. He was knocking on some door, hearing screaming and even hitting sounds. The door swung open and he witnessed Emily being hit by a middle aged man. Landon growled, grabbing the man's neck and ripping it completely off.
Landon shook his head, easily taking the vision to mind. your father. he hits you, doesn't he? Landon wasn't facing Emily, but when he did he caught site if her neck and a pulse inside him released. damn. already? Thirst is uncontrollable, and Landon was at his limit. He began to shake. He released Emily, hoping she didn't notice.

normal.
Emily scrunched her eyes together. What?! This guy seriously confused the shit out of Emily. "So what, does everybody you meet hate you?" she asked. When she thought about it though, most people she met hate her as well. That was because girls got jealous too much and just hated Emily because she actually looked nice. That took a great deal of pain for Emily though and she's still not sure if she fully recovered or not.
damn it!
She felt her arm grabbed by Landon's cold hands but didn't say anything about that. She was too busy trying to make him let go. "Would you let go of me?!" she asked through gritted teeth. She wanted to scream but didn't. She knew her dad was probably drinking at that instant and she wasn't going to face that. Never. She knew she'd be sneaking in tonight, through her window. Thank god for the tree.
what's the hurry-
Emily turned around to face Landon, finally pulling her arm from his grasp. "To get away from..." she started but lost her train of though for a second when Landon blacked out, "you." She whispered the last part, still looking at the strange boy curiously.
your father. he hits you, doesn't he?
Caught off guard, Emily took a step back. Her eyes were wide. "Wait... how do you know?" she asked but caught herself too late, "I mean, no." Even the most gullible person in the world could tell she was lying though.
She happened to notice Landon shaking, whether he wanted her to notice or not. "Are you okay?" she finally asked, looking at him. She was supposed to be mad at him but she was insanely interested in him and couldn't bring herself to go home yet. "Why did you black out a few seconds ago?" she asked as well. She was far beyond curious now.
